Causal inference between indoor dampness and adverse health effects

Indoor dampness can promote the establishment of microbes in indoor environments, and as such, controlling is important for maintaining a healthy environment. Here, an index proposed evaluating based on checking visible condensation, mold living rooms bedrooms, moldy odors indoors. In this evaluation method, eight items related to presence mold, are assigned maximum score 3 points; total (a 24 points) then used degree dampness. We classified into four rankings quartiles. Rank 4 represents lowest rank was houses that had most severe levels hypothesized lower rank, higher incidence sick housing syndrome (SHS) would be among young children. To clarify whether there association between child SHS dampness, we conducted Internet-based cross-sectional survey children aged 4–12 years.
